Ciena Corporation
- Ciena Corp. increased 20% to $116.69 after the provider of networking systems reported more than a three-and-a-half-fold jump in earnings in the fiscal third quarter ending on August 2.
Consolidated revenue edged higher to $1.22 billion from $942 million, net income advanced to $50.3 million from $14.2 million, and diluted earnings per share rose to 35 cents from 10 cents a year ago.
During the quarter, Ciena repurchased 1.0 million shares of common stock for an aggregate price of $81.8 million.
Ciena guided fourth-quarter revenue to be between $1.24 billion and $1.32 billion, adjusted gross margin to be between 42% and 43%, and adjusted operating expense to be between $390 million and $400 million.

Revenue increased to $1.12 billion from $910.83 million, net income swung to a profit of $8.97 million from a loss of $16.85 million, and diluted earnings per share swung to a profit of 6 cents from a loss of 12 cents a year ago.
Inventories totaled $874.3 million, compared to $1.02 billion a year earlier.
The company repurchased approximately 1.2 million shares for a total of $84.3 million during the quarter.
Jun 6, 2025 - Ciena Corp. dropped 0.4% to $63.71 after the provider of optical switches and routing systems, services, and automation software reported results for the fiscal first quarter of 2025.
Revenue increased to $1.07 billion from $1.04 billion, net income declined to $44.57 million from $49.55 million, and diluted earnings per share fell to 31 cents from 34 cents a year ago.
The company repurchased approximately 1.0 million shares of common stock for the aggregate price of $79.2 million during the quarter.
Mar 12, 2025 - Ciena Corp said revenue in the fiscal first quarter ended on January 28 increased 25.1% to $1.06 billion from $844.44 million a year ago. Revenue in the Americas increased to $765.1 million from $595.1 million a year ago.
Net income increased to $76.24 million or $0.51 per share from $45.82 million or $0.29 per share in the prior-year quarter.
The networking switches and equipment maker said two customers with 10%-plus sales combining for a total of 25.7% of total sales in the quarter.
