- Advance Auto Parts Inc. advanced 0.7% to $49.50 after the automotive aftermarket parts provider reported first-quarter 2025 results.
Net sales declined to $2.58 billion from $2.77 billion, net income dropped to $24 million from $40 million, and diluted earnings per share fell to 40 cents from 67 cents a year ago.
Advance Auto Parts surged more than 57% in the previous session after the company backed its annual outlook despite tariff pressures.
The company guided full-year net sales to be between $8.40 billion and $8.60 billion, compared to $9.09 billion, and comparable store sales to increase between 0.5% and 1.5%, following a decrease of 0.7% in the previous year, respectively.
The company reaffirmed full-year adjusted earnings per share to range between $1.50 and $2.50.
Auto Parts plans to open 30 new stores and 10 new market hubs during the current fiscal year.
May 23, 2025 - Advanced Auto Parts declined 4.8% to $55.50 after the specialty retailer reported mixed quarterly results.
Revenue in the quarter increased by 2.9% to $2.7 billion, and comparable store sales increased by 1.2%.
The company swung to a net loss of $48.6 million from a profit of $115.9 million, and diluted earnings per share fell to a loss of 82 cents from $1.92 a year ago.
The company tightened its 2023 net sales outlook range to between $11.25 billion and $11.30 billion from the previous range between $11.25 billion and $11.35 billion.
The retailer sharply lowered its 2023 diluted earnings per share range to between $1.40 and $1.80 from the previous estimate of between $4.50 and $5.10 in August.
The company also lowered its 2023 free cash flow range to between $50 million and $100 million from the previous estimate of between $150 million and $250 million.
On October 31, the company declared a regular cash dividend of 25 cents per share to be paid on January 26, 2024, to all common stockholders of record as of January 12, 2024.
Nov 15, 2023 - Advance Auto Parts, Inc plunged 30.50% to $78.30 after the auto parts retailer reported a sharp decline in earnings, cut its dividend and lowered its full-year estimate.
Net sales in the first quarter increased 1.3% to $3.4 billion, driven by new store openings and partially offset by a 0.4% decline in comparable store sales.
Net income plunged to $42.6 million from $129.8 million and diluted earnings per share fell to 72 cents from $2.26 a year ago.
The specialty retailer announced a quarterly dividend of 25 cents per share compared to $1.50 in the previous quarter.
The retailer lowered its estimate of new store openings from between 60 and 80 to between 40 and 60 in the current fiscal year.
The company also slashed its annual earnings per share estimate between $6.0 and $6.50 from the previous outlook between $10.20 and $11.20.
May 31, 2023 - Advance Auto Parts said revenue in the fourth quarter increased 3.2% to $2.5 billion and comparable store sales rose 2.1%. Net income in the quarter decreased to $106.7 million from $81.7 million and diluted earnings per share rose to $1.79 from $1.30 a year ago.
Full- year 2022 revenue increased 1.4% to $11.2 billion and comparable sales rose 0.3% from a year ago. Net income decreased to $501.8 million from $616.1 million and diluted earnings per share declined to $8.27 from $9.55 a year ago.
